Marilyn Douala Bell and Didier Schaub founded doual’art in 1991. Doual’art is a nonprofit cultural organisation and art centre focussed on new urban practices of African cities, in order to create a bridge between the city and contemporary art productions. Their purpose is to work on the cultural and urban identity of Douala. They are our local partners and at the same time the source for our survey on the city, since they promoted and produced art installations over the past twenty years.
